Year 6 had an impactful visit to the Knife Angel 🗽, raising awareness about the effects of knife crime. The powerful sculpture reminded us all of the dangers and consequences of carrying knives ⚠️. The statue was constructed out of 100,000 knives and weighs a massive 3.5 tonnes, taking a whopping 2 years to make! The sight of it was both impressive due to the artwork and a sight of sadness.
Local police officers 👮 joined the visit, educating the children about knife crime and how to stay safe. The highlight was when the children got to sit in the police van 🚓, turn on the sirens 🚨 and even cheekily “arrest” Mr. Ginder! It was a memorable day with important lessons learned. 😊
