Special Event - Missionaries of Charity

7 February 2013

On Thursday 7th February, Sister Assumpta and Sister Regina from the Missionaries of Charity house in Kingstanding came to visit St. John Bosco School for the day.

Their day in school began with Mass in the hall led by Year 2. Afterwards, they were taken on a tour around the school by Alex and Janelle in Year 4. The Sisters were very impressed with all the vibrant displays and lovely manners the children showed them.

The rest of their day was spent visiting every class and talking to the children about their work. The sisters taught some classes a song about God’s love and they gave out some medals and prayer cards for the children to keep.

It was a lovely day and all the children and staff learned a lot from the sisters about their work. Humility is an important virtue the sister’s show in their everyday work which is why we cannot publish photos on the internet of the sister’s visit to St. John Bosco School.

The Missionaries of Charity

The Missionaries of Charity is an international religious family they work wholeheartedly to serve the poorest of the poor, leading each sister to the perfect love of God and neighbour and making the Church fully present in the world of today.

The Society was founded by Mother Teresa, in Calcutta, India, and now has houses on every continent and in most of the countries of the world. Their particular mission is to labour for the salvation and the sanctification of the poorest of the poor all over the world. Each member of the Society goes where she is sent and does not choose the place or kind of work.
