Special Event - Carol Singing Performances

December 2011

Year 6 pupils from St John Bosco Primary school brought some festive good wishes to the people of West Bromwich during their last week of term with a series of carol singing performances.

On Monday 12th December the children set off for the town centre and began the day by celebrating 10am Mass with Fr Ugo and parishoners of St Michael's church. They then went to Queen's Square shopping centre and The Public Art Gallery to entertain the passers by. During this time, their singing was that impressive that they were invited to perform an additional repetoire at Wilkinsons store in the town, with everyone being rewarded with selection boxes.

Tuesday saw the same group of children travel to Lyndon House care home to entertain the elderly residents. This has become an annual event and was thoroughly enjoyed by everyone with many of the residents joining in some of the more traditional carols.

With the term over on Friday and everyone looking forward to Christmas, 15 members of Year 6 took up the opportunity on Saturday to perform a carol concert at the Co-op store at Hilltop, West Bromwich as part of their special Christmas theme day. The pupils sang brilliantly to a big audience for over an hour and did their school and parents proud. They were again rewarded with Christmas gifts from the Co-op.

All of the pupils involved in any of the singing were fantastic and really brought a smile to the face of all those who enjoyed the carols.
